For more than 100 years: Pioneer in Medical Textiles

In 1903 – during a time of great changes, novel ideas and new ways – Karl Otto Braun founded his company in Wolfstein and soon made it successful as a manufacturer of “Elastic Bandages”. In the 1930s KOB set about, together with its customers, to develop new products that were geared towards customer demand. From 1953 onwards KOB was able, due to its new cotton spinning mill, to work as a fully integrated company and in 1978 it started with the large-scale production of cohesive fixation bandages. Since 2000 the family-owned company has been part of the HARTMANN GROUP.

These days, KOB is global market leader in the field of elastic bandages and is responsible, within the group, for the production of medical textiles on three sites in Coimbatore/India, Qingdao/China and Wolfstein.
